Watching people do heavy Cleans was my entry point into weightlifting, back when all I did was Bench and Deadlift. Moreso than the Snatch, which I've never felt as much attachment to, and personally, I feel like even the Jerk is peripheral in significance. I don't compete, and I only do the lifts casually, but I've always felt that the Clean really captures the essence of weightlifting for me.
